About joyjoy
Welcome! I’m Joy, and I am here to share the transformative power of yoga and community with you. Since 2011, I have been guiding students on the mat, drawing from a deep and diverse foundation rooted in Iyengar, Vinyasa, Baptiste, and Bhakti styles. As a 200-hour E-RYT with well over 500 hours of continuing education, I’ve had the privilege of teaching thousands of classes—including the unforgettable experience of twice leading the community under the open sky at Red Rocks for Yoga on the Rocks.
But beyond the credentials and the decades of practice, I have arrived at a beautiful place of surrender in my life. Call it middle-aged wisdom, if you will, but I no longer want to walk this path alone. I fully recognize that the magic happens when we do this together. I deeply celebrate togetherness and the building of true Sangha—a connected community where we can all show up exactly as we are.
Hey
Y’all!
I believe that yoga is deep, soul-stirring work that thrives in a space of lightness. My classes are infused with levity, a spirited energy, and a whole lot of sunshine. Whether we are moving through precise alignment or flowing with the breath, I lead with a blend of playful joy, endless curiosity, and a dedication to our shared evolution. I’m here to help you laugh when you wobble, explore the quiet spaces between breaths, and embrace the beautiful journey of unfolding—not in isolation, but side-by-side.
Mission & Values
My approach to yoga, wellness, and community is rooted in a few values that continue to guide my own journey. They influence how I move through the world, how I hold space for others, and how I hope people feel when they step into one of my classes or experiences.

Yoga is deep work, but it thrives in a space of lightness. To me, playfulness means exchanging the heavy armor of perfection for a sense of levity, spirited energy, and joy. It is the willing spirit that laughs when it wobbles and celebrates the messy beauty of trying. When we infuse our practice with delight, we free ourselves from judgment and meet both ourselves and one another with a bright, open heart.

Transformation begins with a gentle question, not an absolute answer. Curiosity is the guide that leads us away from rigid expectations and into a space of wonder and exploration. It invites us to listen closely to the subtle language of the body, to explore the quiet spaces between breaths, and to remain endlessly fascinated by the unique stories we all bring to the room. By staying curious, we open the door to genuine self-discovery and authentic connection.

We are not fixed destinations; we are constantly unfolding. Growth is the continuous, lifelong evolution of the self and the collective. Like a seed naturally reaching toward the sun, we are meant to expand, transform, and evolve together. It is a shared journey of softening where we are tight, building strength where we are soft, and committing to the beautiful, ongoing practice of becoming exactly who we are meant to be.
Word on the Street
“When I am in a space with Joy, I feel seen and supported. Joy cultivates spaces that are fun but that help me do the real work in life. This is to let yoga flow through me as I move through life.”
